David has been working in the financial services industry since graduating from La Trobe University in Bendigo in 1987 with a Bachelor of Business (majoring in Accounting). He has had extensive experience in the field working for companies such as Arthur Anderson & Co, BHP Superannuation and Sandhurst Trustees Ltd.

He started Beattie Financial Services in 1991 as a part time business while still working, eventually going full time with the business in 2003. Starting with only 40 clients, Beattie Financial now does business with over 1,300 clients in both financial planning and accounting.

David is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia as well as the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He also holds memberships with the Association of Financial Advisers and the National Tax and Accountants Association.

He also holds the following qualifications:

• Diploma in Financial Planning

• Masters in Accountancy

• Certificate of Self-Managed Superannuation Fund

• Certificate of ASX Securities

• Registered Tax Agent

• Registered Auditor of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds

David is certified as a Financial Planner (CFP) as well as being a Chartered Accountant (CA), which means he is able to offer clients the knowledge and expertise of both qualifications.
